Africa Twin Center Stand is not a Standard Equipment. Honda OEM is said to be Main Stand instead of Center Stand. In order to improve the maintainability, I wanted Center Stand before delivery, but I looked at the gold amount of the estimate and tried it. Since Body is 30,240 yen including tax, and labor cost is only 19,000 yen, both of which are too high, I tried hard on the installation and challenged with DIY.
Since it is an OEM product, I feel a well-designed making. Is the weight about 2 kg, Spring is also solid, Quantity : There are also 2pc.
The most difficult struggle is the installation of Spring. It is just a matter of how many centimeters it stretches out and it hooks, but manpower and effort are necessary to do with strength. There was a method using Jack if it was Net information, but because I felt a bit unstable, I gave up.. I thought about thoroughly Simulation and tried a way to extend Spring using Tie Down Belt. Originally it is a tool to fix objects on the loading platform, so it's Rachet Type so it can apply quite a strong force.
I did install the Center Stand for the first time but it is not a big change in the labor cost of 19,000 yen! In fact it was possible to install it in about 30 minutes, and by doing things by myself to understand the mechanism I was able to enjoy having a love affair. First of all, try it by yourself, it is easy to remove it even if you can not do it, so I think you can bring it to Motorcycle shop. I tried the Center Stand but it is quite heavy after all ~ hang got hold of it while I was doing it several times. Also useful in Maintenance such as Chain.

Finding one for this bike was unusually difficult. Retailing at around $200 + shipping. This was a cheaper option at $150 with the chain stop shipped. Not to mention Honda built. Can't go wrong. Shouldn't all chain drive bikes have a center stand as stock? I think so, so I added one to my 03 Honda CTX, and I am very happy with it. I looked up some videos on Youtube to help with the process, and it all went well, although securing the spring was more difficult than I thought it would be.
