I wanted to do something about the palm numbness in my Right hand that becomes painful when driving long distances.
Although the single cylinder 693cc has the DynamicBalancer on the double, there is no little vibration. When my Right hand gets numb while cruising on the highway, I let go of the handlebar and shake it, but the engine braking is so strong that I have to pay attention to the speed and distance between cars when there are following cars.
The first thing I did was to add Fanatic Fanatic Inner Weight as a quick and easy way to prevent vibration. This is a product aimed at the change and absorption of natural frequency by incorporating the heavy object made of Brass in the Handlebar with RubberMount. As for the characteristics of the product, the Pipe Handlebar has a low natural frequency, so you can expect a large change, but the Separate Handlebars has a high natural frequency and the expectation is not so high because of its shortness, but there was an effect in its own way.
The vibration that was felt at 4250 rpm has been reduced in the test run after installation. The vibration of the left hand side is reduced especially when cruising on the highway. This is confirmed by the fact that the rearward view in the Bar end mirror is more clearly visible than the Right hand side. The key is the Right hand side, but the effect is weak, and the vibration decreased a little, but the hand eventually becomes numb just because the speed range to vibrate moved. I'm not saying it won't have an effect, but I believe that changing the weight of the weights will have an even greater effect, so I'll be using a lathe to make these motorcycle-specific weights and testing them out on a lathe. First of all, we want to make the weights as heavy as possible, and then we want to shave the weights as much as possible while test-running to get the correlation between weight and vibration.
If I think of vibration countermeasures, I can think of various other measures such as reducing vibration with Engine, adding anti-shake bracket, changing weight of DynamicBalancer, reducing friction loss by coating, and many others. In any case, cost and hassle will be an issue.
Handlebar stiffness and natural frequency, Engine number and crank angle, 2-stoke and 4-stroke, Engine Displacement Volume per cylinder, Engine Mount hardness, etc...depending on the motorcycle. There are many differences. This Fanatic Inner Weight is not a dedicated component that is suitable for all motorcycles. Fits or doesn't fit differently on different motorcycles, but it's a good enough product to make a definite difference when installed. It is inexpensive and worth a try in Large. View Detail
